This is a work in progress, partly screen captured in Snapz Pro and partly screen captured in Screenium. Using an original Garageband mixdown of a MIDI tabulation of Wild Turkey by Jefferson Airplane. The original composition, that I 'Russian Dolled' the macro patches of was itself a variant by gabemott upon a tutorial post by goto http://vimeo.com/groups/creativeapps/videos/14005977. I must admit, considering the fact that I effectively doubled the number of patches [one set of awesome lines for each Waveform spectrum channel] and then trebled them , to create Low Middle and High value rendering pairs, it is worthwhile mentioning just how efficiently the construct works , giving a steady 57 - 60 fps rendering in Quartz Composer. Sadly screen capturing just doesn't get to that fps level. I think this will need to go for offline rendering and re-syncing of audio. Thank goodness for Garageband and Quartz Crystal in that case. Also, this currently posted version exhibits the snap , crackle and pop problems associated with the currently failing more than succeeding version of Soundflower.

Been catching the exhibition of Darell Viner's early 1970s computer art. Structures and Iterations, so Quartz Composer and a whole load of other programs, vvvv, Processing and similar applications. Also the mismatch between human and [man-made] machine. I'm liking all the more the ironic contrast in Quartz Composer between the pure, perfect code and the resulting output , which, unless calculated offline for each and every frame, results in a best efforts [pretty good efforts and brilliant results BTW] to render the coded instructions of the composition. Audio track - Dsobligeant - Copyright: Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/us/ Composer: John Badger The composition, still a work in progress, produces audio reactive graphics through several OpenCL kernels. Although I like the two tone, textured feel of the resulting composition, I'm definitely going to be exploring the creation of sympathetic and also pretty arbitrary colour structures to further develop the mesh being rendered. [Along with a whole host of other kernel chaining instructions].

An SBArt Core Image audiolisation heavily dependent upon mdist - creating matrices of distances which graphic realisation is algorithmically made into the audio tones you can hear. Not Sound to Image, but rather Image to Sound. Straight screen capture in Snapz Pro. A similar Quartz Composer based version can also be created, although the algorithmic conversion of image to sound becomes more one of sound to image.
