My son had a project to do on the planet Mercury. He was not interested in making a poster or painting styrofoam for his visual. I thought a power point was okay, but when he saw the videos I was producing with kids at my job he wanted to do one of his own. He loves the Bill Nye Science Guy shows and Wild Kratts, so we brainstormed a show of his own. This is what we came up with- Big Willie's World of Adventures. He knows Mercury and after watching this you should too. This was fun to do with him. Theatre moms have the best kids! LOL

Without our Sun, there would be no heat, no light and no life on Earth. An eleven-year cycle of magnetic activity modulates its appearance, and the occurrence of eruptive events such as flares and coronal mass ejections. I shall discuss how these, in turn, affect the Earth – and how the Sun currently does not seem to be behaving as expected. The transcript and downloadable versions of the lecture are available from the Gresham College Website: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/the-sun-our-nearest-star Gresham College has been giving free public lectures since 1597.
