To assist in the pangs of LCD withdrawal we watched an interview we shot with James Murphy back in the summer of 2006. It was a 30 minute interview which we’ve cut into 9 minutes for your viewing pleasure. Murphy shares his thoughts on musical discovery, the future of taste, artistic value in the face of technology and what he did with our plot device, something.

Roller Skating has never been so much fun when you have a little LCD Soundsystem to rock out to! Compositing and rotoscoping done in Mocha and After Effects. Edited in Final Cut Pro. Song: "Dance Yrself Clean" - LCD Soundsystem. For anyone interested in sweet disco tunes from this era, my good buddy DJ Tokoloshe made an incredible mix inspired by the movie "Roller Boogie" and all things roller skating. TTI, (standing for Tangible Textural Interface) is a new sound system that embeds a tactile surface. TTI has flexibility that enables people to physically touch and feel the response through the controls and physical morph of the surface. TTI delivers new aesthetics through integrated flexible surfaces as interface material unlike adapting conventional materials for interfaces such as plastic or glass. Unlike existing 2D interfaces, TTI has a curved 3D surface opening up new possibilities in making flexible forms and shapes within the interface. TTI consists of 3 main functions, backwards and forwards, volume control and equaliser, having a physical feedback and control interface within one surface. As you control the functions, the left surface physically responds to the controls. Tactile surface also responds to the beat of the music.

[ http://pico.com.co ] > [ https://soundcloud.com/pico-documental ] > [ https://twitter.com/picodocumental ] > [ facebook.com/picodocumental ] At the end of the 60’s the afro population of the Colombian Atlantic Coast developed an alternative to enjoy, and in turn, locally spread their preferred music; they built hand-made sound systems capable of triggering a huge party. These sound systems are known in the Colombian Caribbean as Picós. These Colombian sound systems were known, among other things, for having their own name (El Timbalero, El Coreano, El Isleño) as well as for their over-the-top appearance, and for having audio components that magnified their sound power to the maximum. The so-called Picós, as mobile stations, began in the 60’s to create the basis of an urban, popular and contemporary culture that expresses itself through these powerful sound machines. The sound systems became the center of social and economic networks of craftsmen DJs, owners, music sellers, producers and purchasers, which together, on a small scale, make up an informal economy generated specifically to build, transport and operate these "mobile cultural spaces" which were popularly baptized as Picós. The PICÓ documentary aims to tell the story of the Maury family in Barranquilla, Colombia, who for 40 years have lived in a house in the La Magdalena neighborhood, which in turn they transformed into a place where people gather, known as "La isla del encanto (the Island of enchantment)." Technical Information Documentary Series: 4 Episodes Duration: 24 min.
