1. MAI - Our Story 2013

    from Glow Works Media Added

In many countries, individuals and whole people groups are subject to discrimination, oppression, and violence by opposing ethnic groups or public authorities. There are many individuals and organisations doing amazing work to bring hope in such circumstances. But, in a world of compassion fatigue and media selectivity, many of these stories fail to surface or catch the public imagination. MAI's aim is to empower some of them, especially where a small investment in primary healthcare capacity can bring such enormous benefits. You can find out more information at medicassistinternational.org. If you’d like a film produced why not call us on 020 8133 6203 or drop us an email at contact@glowworksmedia.co.uk. We will always try and fit within your budget.

Global Maternal Health Conference 2013 Financial incentives are relatively new to health care programs and thus peer reviewed articles are not prevalent. Presenters report on the successes and challenges of their own programs. As there is only one of two videos available for this presentation, only Nair's presentation on Ethiopia is available. Nair described the difficulties of implementing health care financing reform, especially in those areas which are not close to the capital. As the reform only spends 7% of health expenditures on maternal and newborn care, she found great gaps in services available, in addition to high out of pocket expenditures.
