Sequence: Musical Journey Through Space (Express Version– 23 Min. 10 Seconds) This is a shorter version of the film Sequence. It is essentially the same film as its longer counter-part. The major differences are that the historical introduction, and a few other shorter sections are removed. The beginning of the film also has different introduction as well. It is essentially the same story, however. Sincerely, Michael O’Donoghue, Burbank Chorale Mikeodie@earthlink.net

What you are about to watch can best be described as a "Musical Documentary". Sequence: A Musical Journey Through Space provides a brief overview of various aspects of space flight set against classical music. While it is not a true documentary in itself, the film does provide a brief synopsis about the development of manned space flight. At the same time it also gives the viewer an opportunity to experience the grandeur of space from a musical prospective. The various classical pieces in the film are actually live concert recordings of the Burbank Chorale of Burbank, California. (www.burbankchorale.org). The majority of the photos and film/audio clips are courtesy of NASA, Roscosmos, and various other government and private institutions. Where ever possible visual materials are presented in high resolution format. Though the film is best viewed while using a wide-screen digital TV with stereo sound speakers, you will certainly enjoy the show on a standard TV or on your computer. During the narrated sections of this film the music is played very quietly. When there is no narration the music is very prominent. Another feature of this film is that the sounds of a Saturn 5 rocket engine and that of a helicopter's rotor blades are blended into the musical sound track. With all of that said, get ready to enjoy Sequence: A Musical Journey Through Space. Sincerely, Michael O’Donoghue, Burbank Chorale Mikeodie@earthlink.net

Rocketdyne 3551 Doniphan Neosho, Missouri Artist: Larry Sanchez The Rocketdyne Mural was painted by Rocketdyne employee, Larry Sanchez, in the heyday of the space race in 1963. The Rocketdyne plant in Neosho was heavily involved in building engines for rockets that carried America’s hopes into space and eventually put men on the moon. During this time, Sanchez was asked to paint a mural and he chose to create his view of what the future would look like in outer space. The objects he put in his vast look at space are remarkably similar to the satellites and space stations of today. The mural is located in the company’s cafeteria and employees were able to watch Sanchez as he worked. The plant is now home to Premier Turbines, a company which does large aviation engine overhaul work. Two years later Sanchez won a contest to design the Big Spring Park Tile mural.

Polarity Theatre Ensemble presents Ephemera, a world-premiere sci-fi comedy from writer Bryce Wissel and director Laura Sturm. When a talking monkey appears in the airlock of the space station Ephemera, the crew learns they may be the last defense of planet Earth. Bryce Wissel's zany comedy features a tortured love triangle, a mariachi-singing robot, and the threat of interstellar combat with an unknowable enemy. In this second of three video diaries going behind the scenes of the production, Glass City Films (glasscityfilms.com) interviews director Laura Sturm and takes an in-depth look at the rehearsal process for a play that features time-jumping, wacky sound and lighting cues, and characters caught in the trials of discovering what it means to be active in their own lives. In early March 2011, you can see the space station ISS very well in the night sky. The video shows a crossing from 04/03/2011 19:04 to 19:09 clock. It was taken on the grounds of the modelairfield of the MFC-Solingen. You can see the ISS as a bright point of light, crossing the sky with high speed from west to east-south-east. The apex was at 84 degrees, so almost perpendicular. At this point, at 19:07 clock, the distance to the space station was 358 km. At 19:09 clock, they disappeared into the earth's shadow, at that point it was already 1156 km away from me. The Space Shuttle Discovery is docked at the ISS. STS-133 is the last mission for this shuttle. Since 02.24.2011 the supply vessel ATV-002 "Johannes Kepler" is already docked at the station, it provides the ISS with about 7 tons of supplies. In June, the ATV will be loaded with 6 tons of waste and burn up in the atmosphere. Filmed with a Sony HDR-CX550VE.
