In this second video we will take a look at opening up a new arduino sketch and adding in the void setup and void loop structures. We will then add in code to make 1 LED blink and off repeatedly every second. Watch the video, and then open up arduino so you can begin to add your own sketch.

A microcontroller project built with Arduino Uno and Sparkfun Gesture sensor. (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12787) When the alarm goes off at a certain time, the piezo buzzer plays Symphony No.5 by Beethoven. To stop the alarm, one has to use the correct gesture pattern. Here is an extension to the multiple LEDs where we add in a potentiometer to control which function to run on the RedBoard. We will be using "if / else" statements for this lesson.

This video will introduce the use of an "array" to dramatically reduce the amount of code that is necessary to control 8 LEDs. You can tell from this image that the code will be shorter. We will also be using for() loops again and functions.

With multiple LEDs we will be able to introduce the new concept of arrays. The arrays will allow us to dramatically reduce the amount of code we need in some areas. This video will introduce the multiple LEDs and how they are attached to the breadboard. We will also be looking at how the index position will correspond to the breadboard position and pin that is being used.

In this circuit we will explore the Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) LED and see how we can use it to create the 8 main colors along with a spectrum of colors. Functions will be used again for this code and the for( ) loop will be introduced. This video take will show examples of how this works before we get to the arduino sketch.

The showSpectrum portion of this code will take quite a while to complete. We will be using a function to call on the code in the void loop. The showSpectrum function will have a for( ) loop that will also include an if, else if, and else portion to the code. This will be a new condition that we have not worked with so pay close attention.

This video will take you through how to use a function to create the 8 main colors. This will set us up for the next video where we get to show the spectrum of colors.
