This is a small animation i did as an exercise to experiment and explore all the graphical possibilities of representing the idea of the SPHERE, always thinking in searching Gestalt and form. Its all done in 3d, but i was more interested in the graphical interest, flatten the surfaces, and only two colors, why more. The most difficult was to achieve the transitions between the different type of representation of the sphere, the morphing and metamorphosing. For the description of the project, all these frames plus the frames from the scenes that weren't included, visit - http://www.behance.net/gallery/Spherikal/3565597 It was all done in Cinema 4d R13, all with the Mograph module. Just messing around one day, with my Canon Rebel XT DSLR. Oil being poured into a cup of water. Music by Bonobo // Recurring edit 4/24 6:30am: WOW! I'm glad everyone is liking this so much! I really didn't even put any thought into the timing or editing of this. i just went through the sequences i had, in order, and tossed some music over it. The frames are pretty much un-edited. I think I changed the white balance, and added some sharpness, and that was all. I wish I had an actual video camera, that could capture some of the things I see, when photographing my subjects. IMO the time-lapse looks neat, but does not do it justice. A lot of people are asking how I did this. It's pretty simple. I just put the camera on its' lowest jpeg setting, placed the camera into continuous mode, and locked the shutter down with my wired remote. The oil is being dumped into a tall cylindrical glass, with about a cup of water in it. The whole thing is lit from behind by a diffused clamp light.

Metamaterials are artificial materials engineered to have properties that may not be found in nature. Метаматериа́л — материал, природные свойства которого обусловлены не столько природными физическими свойствами, сколько периодической микроструктурой создаваемой человеком. The theme of this study is the mechanical transformation, a change of the form. The 5 items that have arisen here, fall back in form and process of change on analogies from nature. A sphere, the simplest geometric shape that we know, serves as a starting form.

This is an audio-reactive algorithmic visual art piece that uses the concept of charged particles and flocking to simulate a organism that is alive and composed of micro-organisms. The movement is rather pleasing thus I decided to exhibit the algorithm in a rather catchy video art fashion. Enjoy. Audio: Jon Hopkins - "A Drifting Up" More at syedrezaali.com

                  from Physalia / Added

Entropy is the randomness of the microscopic constituents of a thermodynamic system, and a measure of the loss of information in a transmitted signal or message. It is heat death, it is inevitable social decline and degeneration- in a closed system, it is accountable chaos. 2000 pictures compose this piece- that is, 2000 perfect different water drops into which we mapped an animation. Droplets that behave and look strangely similar at the stage of less entropy, and become more disordely as they splash. Matrix objects are often forgotten about when doing simple cloning operations but hopefully after watching this you will think twice.

ORB was an experimental project by the multimedia team. The brief was simple...take a sphere, and through the use of animation, lighting and textures, make the sphere interesting. We used a variety of software with extremely interesting and inspirational results.
