Foodists.ca recently pledged support to GoVoluntouring founder Aaron Smith and his campaign to help save sea turtles in Costa Rica in the form of a rather unique challenge. Hot Sauce. That's right... Hot Sauce. A man always up for a good dare, Aaron promised potential supporters he would drink a full cup of any hot sauce—with the condition it didn't contain ghost peppers—in exchange for a financial donation. What Aaron didn't know when he accepted this challenge was that the hot sauce was being made by people who really like their hot sauces, namely the Foodists and their good friend, chef and restauranteur, Bill McCaig of Nicli Antica Pizzeria and Nicli's Next Door fame. Achieving this will be accomplished by using the freshest quality ingredients and constantly testing new combinations and pushing for perfection. We aren't trying to be the hottest sauce on the planet, we aren't seeking to break any world records. it’s about the flavor and quality in our hot sauce. By being a small batch producer we can guarantee each sauce will be at its highest quality and flavour profile. It also gives us a chance to experiment with new ideas and concepts for our sauce. Giving you added satisfaction of having a brand that will never get boring and leave your taste buds asking "WTF?" Hot Sauce isn't just a condiment, it's a life style. I know I don't throw hot sauce on a plate of food for the hell of it or just because it's there. Hot sauce excites the senses and awakens the spirit, it entertains the soul. I want it to send chills down my back, and give me a jolt of adrenaline! That's what Heavens Inferno will try to do for you. We won't rest until we awaken your senses. It's not just a passion, it's a love affair. The Sauce Jalapeno & Carrot, what kind of combination is that? I'll tell you that it is a very flavourful combination. Those are not the only ingredients and the flavour on your palette will leave you thinking you are on a beach somewhere. It has a nice citrus and tangy taste with just the right amount of sweet and hot. You can use this sauce on just about anything. A test batch A test batch Company Goals There's so much we want to accomplish in a our first year! Here's a taste of what Heavens Inferno hope to accomplish over the next year. Create New Flavors - We have 2 other flavours planned for 2015, (Habanero & Lime, and Ghost Pepper & Sweet Potato). They have both been through our test kitchen and we are just tweaking the recipe. We want to produce a "Hotter" version of our original Jalapeno & Carrot sauce as a 1 year anniversary limited sauce. We want to create a sauce for our chili head fans. We want to make a suicide sauce just for them. We want to enter into as many hot sauce competitions as possible so we can showcase our passion for sauce. Create an entertaining and exciting web presence. We want to give back to our community through charity and "Kick it Forward," which we are very pleased to be a supporting member of. More... Heavens Inferno wants to reach out to restaurants across North America and have our sauce a part of their menu. Build relationships with small farmers and source ingredients locally (we hear our local farmers are really outstanding in their fields). Offer international shipping options through our website. Where the money is going. The funds will be going to the ingredients, the glass bottles and the printing of the labels. I know it seems like a lot for such a short list of things but these things are not inexpensive. We aren't shooting for a cheap hot sauce, we value and will strive for quality. The first small batch will be 600 bottles. Recap The Dream: For me, living the dream is being able to do what I love and share the bounty with those around me. This is not a get rich quick scheme and the dream has nothing to do with amassing "fat stacks of cash" or shiny new toys. There are no illusions of grandeur at Heavens Inferno Inc., Our plan is simple...work hard, have fun, make new friends, pay the bills and be happy. What we need? what we need; your support through donations and of course, being a customer. If we meet this fundraising goal our first batch will be made in January, 2015...a new beginning in a new year. Should we come up short and ultimately receive no funding, as kickstarter is an "all or nothing" funding opportunity, we will not get our first batch out. This just means that for every sale 5% of all profit of the Jalapeno & Carrot Hot Sauce will go towards backing other Kickstarter campaigns. Our brand believes in giving back. Risks and challenges There are always risks involved when selling a manufactured product. However, we have minimized those risks through careful planning and lots of preparatory work.
