Many past films, riders, and locations have inspired us. Some of those locations are now our backyards, and some of those riders are now our friends. From the Inside Out is our adventure to the places we've always wanted to ride, and our expression of the lines and styles that have influenced us. This is freeride mountain biking. This film is from us – the riders. Written, directed and edited by The Coastal Crew and produced by Anthill Films, From the Inside Out was filmed entirely in British Columbia, the birthplace of freeride, and features some of the sport's best riders, including: Brandon Semenuk, Steve Smith, Thomas Vanderham, Matt Hunter, Graham Agassiz, Mike Hopkins, Kenny Smith & The Coastal Crew. During the 2014 North American International Auto Show, we sent OSKNY’s resident blogger Steve Smith back to his hometown of Detroit. It’s said that the former automotive capital is facing big problems. The financial collapse of the city, the massive decline of residents and the numerous houses that are abandoned or destroyed are just a few of the sad stories you might have heard in the news recently. However, every crisis presents an opportunity. You see a glimmer of hope for the “D” when you take a closer look, do some on-site researching and speak with newly-arrived residents. While Steve was looking for signs and indicators of a Detroit comeback he was accompanied by time-lapse professional Eric Hines. Eric followed Steve on his editorial expedition through the city and created this time-lapse short film featuring some of the more notable spots in Detroit. A screen-friendly version of our 5000 pixel-wide moving painting for the National Maritime Museum's amazing new exhibition: 'Royal River, Power, Pageantry and the Thames'. The looping animation adorns 4-screens above the museum's reception desk, and was visited by the Queen in April 2012. We like to think she stood awhile and reflected on the mastery of our digital trickery…. but we can't be sure. We turned a Canaletto painting, 'London: The Thames on Lord Mayor’s Day, looking towards the City and St. Paul’s Cathedral (circa 1750)', in to a 3D environment which we explore. The water ripples, canons fire and flags billow in a truly immersive experience. The painting itself is on loan to the National Maritime Museum and is in England for the first time since it was painted, over 260 years ago! Curated by David Starkey the exhibition runs from now until 9th September 2012, and we can well recommend a visit!
