    • A trip to the seaside

      from Andy Emery Added 475 14 3

A sunny day trip out to Stoupe Brow, Yorkshire's farthest-flung bouldering venue. The famous 7C+ Requiem is a focus for many a strong climber but the easier problems here are also great and well worthwhile. Bring some hedge trimmers for the gorse though! The tune came on the iPod on random on the drive down and I'd forgotten how good it was.

                from Dave Warburton Added 978 2 1

Three new routes on the North Yorks Moors at Danby Crag and Stoupe Brow. Die By The Sword H7 6c** A short, fingery wall with a stopper move by a shelf. Low runners are of little help higher up. The White Scoop E7 6b** Breaking left from 'Central Crack' E2/3, is an obvious scoop containing brilliant, sustained climbing in an increasingly dangerous position, culminating in a ultra bold finishing move Waves of Inspiration H7 6c*** The beautiful smooth rib right of 'Fire Dance' offers sensationally sustained climbing up the waves, with low gear in the big pocket.
