I scouted eBay and Amazon for Meccano and was surprised to find it is so expensive and with a lot of junk you won't need such as plastic car lights and motorcycle seats! Each kit is designed to fulfil some prefabricated construction rather than being left to the imagination, creativity and innovation of the owner! Good training if you want to work at IKEA I suppose. So I have ordered some Tamayi kit instead, this at least can be ordered as individual parts or small kits. Although it's not Meccano my hope is it is still good enough to prove the concept. The Stepper motors are cheap (£1.99 each from China but you need to be patient for their arrival). They operate extremely well and most importantly do not act like the neurotic servo's found on cheap root arms. Full specs can be found here:- http://www.geeetech.com/wiki/index.php/Stepper_Motor_5V_4-Phase_5-Wire_%26_ULN2003_Driver_Board_for_Arduino The motors can be found on eBay or Amazon, the following link has best details though 52p more on Amazon:- http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0089JV2OM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

Toa Mata Band is known as the World's first LEGO robotic band controlled by Arduino Uno which is hooked up to a MIDI sequencer. In this video, the third episode, the robots are playing some unconventional drum-percussions made by some food packaging are captured by a contact microphone (piezo) and processed in real time in the D.A.W. Ableton Live. A brand new device appears for the first time, it's a sliding platform on x-axis, made of Lego bricks, gears and servo motors that permits to move with semitones-steps the tiny synth. The song is a cover of the famous synth-pop band Depeche Mode, it's a personal tribute to the band who made my days in the 80's. The performance was recorded live in studio at the end of July 2014. This video is only a showcase of my works, it's not for commercial use.
