This tutorial will walk you through the library resources available to you First visit the library website at bryan.edu/library At the top, you will notice several tabs to help you navigate library resources Scroll down to see library contact information, more resources for students, information on library services like interlibrary loan, and “snapshot” information about the library Let’s return to those tabs at the top of page to learn more about searching for library materials The subject guides tab is a great place to start for research Scroll through the page to locate your subject area, such as business, Christian studies, or communications When you click on a subject, you will find information about databases in that area, identifying call numbers for relevant books, and free, quality websites to check out Next click on the Books & DVDs tab This will take you straight to the Bryan College library catalog, where you can search through materials owned by the library Type in a basic keyword like “Christianity,” click “Submit,” and scroll through the various books and videos available Even if you don’t live near the main campus library in Dayton, Tennessee, you can still access many of these materials online or have them mailed to your home Online and distance students will find the Articles & databases tab most helpful This is where you can search major databases or select databases from a list to access scholarly journal articles online Each database gives you access to hundreds or thousands of high-quality journals If you have a specific journal you want to find, you can type the title of the journal under “Browse Journals By Title” to see if Bryan College has access to it through any of its databases If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, go back to the main page and scroll down to find interlibrary loan Interlibrary loan allows you to request books, articles, and other materials from other libraries In short, all the resources you need to be successful in school are at your fingertips – just explore the library website and if you have any trouble, ask a librarian for help

Need quality information fast? Our librarians can get you started right away. This week Anali introduces you to the ASU Libraries’ LibGuides. LibGuides are resources handpicked by our subject librarians covering a wide variety of subjects and courses taught at Arizona State University. Because they list only the best items for your subject, they can save you lots of time sorting by getting you right to what you need. They also provide quick contact information for the subject librarian for each one — so you can quickly get help from an expert in that area.

        Tags

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
