A Weekend of palette knife painting, buttery oils, an awesome group of students and lots of joyful painting with favorite colors. We threw out the rules and began with just color and no concept of what was to come. Life never follows a play book and with this type of knife painting, we did not need one. Enjoy the collection of work and the hot summer days in Dallas at Dutch Art Gallery with Palette Knife Painter Laurie Justus Pace.

Camouflage is a method of concealment that allows an otherwise visible animal, military vehicle or other object to remain unnoticed by blending with the enviroment. It can be achieved in different ways, Cripsis- ‐being hidden, the apparent oposites in Mimesis- ‐being seen, but resembling something else, and Dazzle that found military application in the 20th Century by disrupting the visualization of the shape & size of the object. We worked using the natural space that the Domaine de Boisbuchet offers as a working field were we applied this concepts into working models, experiments and visual battle fields.

Where is our food actually from? How come potatoes are often the same size? Why does the supermarket sell apples that look identical? What do fruit and vegetables usually look like? Are we still aware of what we’re eating? And why on earth do we throw so much food away? Do we have too much of it? These are some of the questions raised at the workshop led by katja Gruijters.
