Indiana University South Bend sponsored a short video series highlighting the green initiatives taken by local businesses as those businesses aim for sustainable business models and practices. In this video, Theri Niemier discusses the sustainable practices that Bertrand Farm (http://www.bertrandfarm.org) incorporates into it's daily practices and gives some insight into what individuals can do to alleviate dependency on non-sustainable resources. I edited together three such videos, including this one highlighting Bertrand Farm, one highlighting The Troyer Group architectural firm, and one highlighting the Purple Porch food coop. In this specific video, I not only edited together the entire piece, but ran B camera for alternative angles in the scene in front of the wagons.

We are already half way through February and my month of life as a total Raw Foodist! I think I have cracked it. It's been a battle of will at times but the cravings seem to be going away and I am finding myself excited about the raw food I am preparing and eating. Thats right, I am enjoying eating a pure Raw diet in February in the UK! Im so pleased with myself… But this is an experiment in different ways of living not an ego boost so please ignore this blurb and have a ganders at what I have been up to. Thank you kindly! JoSh. X

While YSDN is in Oakville and north Toronto, Ryerson School of Interior Design is a program within the larger Ryerson University, similar to YSDN within Sheridan College and York University. One big difference is the fact that the program is located in the downtown core of Toronto. YSDN Co.Create Visits was an opportunity for us to start looking at how other design programs functioned, and other students’ experience of design education. We were fortunate enough to be able to interview students from schools both local and international, all with some connection to York/Sheridan (YSDN). We were also able to speak to a Parsons alumnus turned Masters student in the York University Masters of Design program. The Masters program is located in the same York facilities as the undergraduate (YSDN), though their take place is separate spaces. Parsons, with its prestigious New York connections, gave us a peek at design education in a nearby region. Every year YSDN facilitates an student exchange with the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany. We spoke to two YSDN students who went on exchange, and two students on exchange of Germany. We wanted to find out: What did it mean to have the benefit of two different perspectives on design education? Special thanks to Angela Iarocci Music by Robot Science
