              The City of Houston has proposed to build a facility that would take away curbside recycling and have its residents combine trash and recycling in the same bin. In order to achieve the proposal's desired landfill diversion rates, trash would have to be incinerated using catalytic conversion or gasification technologies, which have caused air pollution problems in other parts of the world and have never before been used in Texas. Texas Campaign for the Environment Program Director, Andrew Dobbs, explains the proposal and why the Mayor's plan is a boondoggle and a threat to the environment. Houston wants REAL curbside recycling, not a "One Bin for All" system.
