1. Move On (Sony FS700 slow motion test)

    from Andrew Reid Added

Shot with the SLR Magic 35mm T0.95, SLR Magic 50mm T0.95 (Leica M to E-mount) and Samyang 24mm F1.4 (Canon mount) at F1.0 on the Metabones Speed Booster adapter. Music by David Bowie - Move On. This is from one of his most underrated albums in my view, Lodger. Recorded in Berlin at the time of the two better known Bowie-Berlin albums, Heroes and Low. It has been improved with sharpness and purple fringing from EOSHD and 3D-Kraft Pre production lens. The result is astonishing to my opinion, very sharp image at full aperture. Here is a non scientific quick test between those two lenses. More tests to come.

Location is the bridge and main station near Photokina, in Cologne. See if you can spot a rare cameo appearance from the SLR Magic guys :) First impressions here - http://www.eoshd.com/content/9072/shooting-with-the-new-slr-magic-35mm-t0-95-and-t1-4-prototype-lenses (Please ignore the end title screen about F-stop - these are T-stop lenses and since I'm travelling, hotel wifi too slow to re-upload to correct at the moment)

                from JR Lipartito Added 5,494 20 12

This weekend I received my 25mm T0.95 SLR Magic HyperPrime Cine in the mail, and so I promptly took it out with my GH3 for an evening stroll. This is not a scientific test, just some casual shooting I did to see how well this camera/lens combination will work under some of the worst lighting conditions I can imagine having to deal with in the real world. More than anything else I was interested in the lens' aesthetic characteristics such as bokeh and flare, and at that I was certainly not disappointed! Wide open it produces flares quite similar to SLR Magic's 12mm T1.6, although not quite as extreme. Every shot was at T0.95, with ISO's ranging from 640 - 1600. All footage is direct from camera, no grading or other effects have been added.

                      from Jurek Ugarow Added 3,769 8 5

Had the lens now for about a month. The majority of the time was spent photographing, and the lens performs beautifully in that context (GH2 raw). Sharp, great color rendition, shallow depth of field if required. Really brought new life to the camera. Video wise I have done only this low-light test. Other than the two opening shots and the last one, lens was set wide open, with ISO ranging from 200 to 800. The last shot I went to 1250 and set the aperture to f/2 to see if flaring and reflections changed. They don’t appear to. I have to stress that this was done in a particularly dark part of the neighborhood with very little light. Apart from the opening shots, all were taken at dusk and beyond. In other words no daylight left in the sky. Despite evidence to the contrary, it was very dark, with the sky in the first handheld shot capturing the lights of Kennedy Airport and Manhattan further west. While there is much that can be pulled apart in these images (feel free to do so), the main focus of the test was just to see how much (or little) light allowed for decent images. In that context, I feel the lens also excels. Yes it flares, sometimes annoyingly; bright lights can cause stray reflections. But sometimes they can add to the atmosphere, and the lens definitely delivers gobs of character. With better planning and set up, good image capture is absolutely possible in even the lowest of light. I am very happy with the lens and can happily recommend it as a versatile and well crafted bit of optics. Hasn’t left the camera since it arrived. All images are direct from the Panasonic GH2 camera. No post processing.
