I drift, half awake, half asleep. Moving through the city I recall but have never been to. "Architecture is the simplest means of articulating time and space, of modulating reality, of engendering dreams" Ivan Chtcheglov This film was made using a digital stills camera to create a stop motion animation. This video is an evolution of an earlier work/technique called Still Moving http://www.vimeo.com/3619284 I think the shot of the Barbican tower is my favourite (its the shot shown in the thumbnail) This was shot hand held no motion control rigs etc.

Please vote for this video by clicking the little heart here http://www.loop-barcelona.com/discovery/project/theo-tagholm/ A simulacra of nature. "Today abstraction is no longer that of the map, the double, the mirror, or the concept. Simulation is no longer that of a territory, a referential being, or a substance. It is the generation by models of a real without origin or reality: a hyperreal. The territory no longer precedes the map , nor does it survive it. It is nevertheless the map that precedes the territory - procession of simulacra - that engenders the territory, and if one must return to the fable, today it is the territory whose shreds slowly rot across the extent of the map. It is the real, and not the map, whose vestiges persist here and there in the deserts that are no longer those of the Empire, but ours. The desert of the real itself." Stop motion Tilt shift meets tracking. This technique is an extension of my other video The Persistence of Vision. This is a photomotion made with a Canon G9 stills camera. - no i didn't film it from a train or bike - no roller skates! The work looks at the sublime act of perception and tries to re-present this. Check out my new video Drift which develops this stop motion technique even further http://www.vimeo.com/7231932

I think this might be the first hyperlapse video ever? It was made in 1998 - please do let me know if there's any earlier examples? A video art piece that i made using a technique i've developed over the years. It's shot in London, Berlin and France. The work is about the sublime act of perception, and the magnificence of the mundane. The effect is all done in camera except speeding the animation up. This work was shortlisted for the Jerwood Moving Image Awards. Here's a new take on this style of video http://www.vimeo.com/15057979
