Tai O is the home of a fishing town, populated with stilt houses and rich in cultural heritage, located on the western side of Lantau Island in Hong Kong. One of the major tourism attractions is venturing out into the sea on a short boat trip to see Chinese (pinkish) white dolphins. This video features the song “K-Eyes” by Rho: Cedarleaf, licensed under a Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 United States.

On the southwest part of Lantau Island, a river splits to the north and west and at this fork lies the island referred to as Tai O. Two pedestrian bridges cross the river on its northern and western forks. The village is located mostly on the banks of the river. The western and northern parts of the island facing the South China Sea are uninhabited. Also known as the "Venice of Hong Kong", Tai O is also a hot tourist spot for both foreigners and residents of other parts of Hong Kong, despite damage by a fire in July 2000. The pang uks, a kind of stilt house, built right over the waterway are still quite scenic. A rope bridge tended by local women used to be quite popular with visitors, but it has been replaced with a steel pedestrian bridge in October 1996. The traditional salted fish and shrimp paste and storefronts at Tai O. For a small fee, some residents will take tourists out on their boats along the river and for short jaunts into the sea. Many tourists come to Tai O specifically to take these trips to see Chinese white dolphins. It is also a good place to see the sunset.

I recently spent a week filming in Hong Kong creating short biopics of China's forgotten tradesmen. Mainly shot in Sham Shui Po, Tai O floating village, Yuen Po Street Bird Garden and Hung Hom where old craftsmen ply their trades in the shadow of Hong Kongs' rampant urban development. This is one in a number of short films giving insight into these warm and passionate people who are still dedicated to their craft. My trip to Hong Kong recently in 2014. Just bought the blackmagic pocket and wanted to see how it looks and handles. Paired with a Lumix 15mm 1.8f lens. Besides some missing basic function, the quality is awesome especially in RAW. For the price I'm paying for, I though it was worth it. Enjoy the video.
