An animal rescue group in Indonesia uses technology to seek safe homes for stray animals, while at the same time educating residents about pet care. The group is called ‘Let's Adopt Indonesia’ which was launched in 2011 thanks to three animal lovers. The group depends on volunteers and social media to get the job done. So far, ten temporary shelters around the city are available for animals on the waiting list for new homes. The group has strict requirements for the adopted homes. The candidates who plan to adopt an animal must be non smokers, have other pets at home and keep them indoors. The candidates must be interviewed both through email and house visits before they receive the go-ahead.
