Coming in October 2012 from Princeton Architectural Press: INSTANT: THE STORY OF POLAROID by Christopher Bonanos For more information: http://www.papress.com/html/book.details.page.tpl?isbn=9781616890858 Publicity contact: Diane Levinson / firstname.lastname@example.org “When I was little, long before personal computers, let alone Instagram-enabled digital camera-phones, Arthur C. Clarke wrote that advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. By far the most uncanny, sexy, insanely great piece of technological magic in our household was my parents’ Polaroid. Chris Bonanos’ smart, thoughtful, charming chronicle of that iconic invention and its remarkable inventor is a delight.” —Kurt Andersen, author of True Believers and Heyday, host of public radio’s Studio 360 “Edwin Land was one of Steve Jobs’s first heroes, and this book shows why. He created a startup in a garage that grew into a company that stood at the intersection of creativity and technology. This is a fascinating saga, both inspiring and cautionary, about innovation and visionary leadership.” —Walter Isaacson, author of Steve Jobs “Pictures in a minute!” In the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s, Polaroid was the coolest technology company on earth, an innovation machine that cranked out one must-have product after another. Led by its visionary genius founder, Edwin Land, Polaroid grew from a 1937 garage startup into a billion-dollar pop-culture phenomenon. It’s no wonder Steve Jobs considered Land a personal hero and modeled Apple after Polaroid. INSTANT: THE STORY OF POLAROID, a richly illustrated, behind-the-scenes look at the company, tells the remarkable tale of Land’s extraordinary and beloved invention. From the introduction of Polaroid’s first instant camera in 1948, to its meteoric rise in popularity and adoption by artists such as Ansel Adams, Andy Warhol, and Chuck Close, to the company’s dramatic collapse into bankruptcy in the 2000s, Instant is both an inspiring story of American ingenuity and a cautionary tale about companies that lose their creative edge.+ More details

I Eric from Teknotik would like to take this opportunity to personally thank and acknowledge all the staff and participants that helped make HT7 an overwhelming success. We are proud to announce that we have now confirmed over 1000+ cars in attendance making this once again the biggest Honda and Acura meet to take place anywhere in Canada! We never would have believed that this meet would grown from a single parking lot of under 100 cars to 4 hugs lots packed with not a space to spare. We were very fortunate for a sun filled and beautiful day, aside from a few sun burns. We would like to thank everyone who came out and participated. We had a great collection of cars from all over Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, North East USA and our furthest traveler all the way from Halifax Nova Scotia. Special thanks to the huge groups that made the drive all the way from Ottawa (OHC, RL) and Montreal (club civic QC, UR, MR). Daft Punk's cameo appearance in TRON: Legacy provided a rare treat to visualize a fully animated digital readout screen in perfect sync with the duo's binary beats. The digital dj pane had to reinforce the advanced computer world technology used by highly evolved musical programs. A flowing dot grid, pulsing energy lines, and digitally dense beat indicators felt appropriate against the visual of these highly evolved djs in their natural element. The chance to create animated graphics that complement an artist I already love in a movie like TRON: Legacy was indeed a series of fortunate events.
