          Duration: 3 Minutes. Long distance hiker and Telluride Adaptive Sports Program(TASP) volunteer, Hawkeye Johnson will travel by foot, and mountain bike on a 440 mile trek from Denver to Telluride starting July 6, 2013, in an effort to raise money for TASP. Five athletes from the adaptive community around the state will join him on separate portions of the multi-use Colorado Trail to demonstrate accessibility to the backcountry for people with disabilities. Filmmaker, Craig Stein will produce episodes of these meetings which you can view at www.gohawkeye.com. In the first episode, Hawkeye will be joined by Steve Ackerman who, without the use of legs, will pedal a hand-cycle. Later in the journey, Johnson will be joined at various locations by adaptive athletes, Kevin Foster, Jake O'Connor, Ron Magnus and Fred Winston on ATV and hand-cycle. Hawkeye created the Gohawkeye fundraising campaign in 2007 by walking the 3,000 mile Continental Divide Trail from Mexico to Canada and in 2011, completed the 2,750 mile Pacific Crest Trail raising a total of $35,000. for TASP programs including the creation of a video resource library. TASP has produced two films selected at the Telluride Mountainfilm Festival, Loadbearing in 2012 and Off The Hook in this years festival. Johnson is asking for your support on this trek by pledging per mile or making a flat donation to TASP. 100% of the money raised benefits TASP, a 501(3)c non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible. Telluride Adaptive Sports, www.tellurideadaptivesports.org, has been helping people with disabilities enjoy year round outdoor activities since 1995.
