The Mamluks were a trained military class who overthrew the Ayyubid dynasty during the 13th century, claiming Cairo as their capital. The postal road inaugurated by the Mamluk Sultan Baybars efficiently linked Cairo and Damascus and enabled effective control over their territories. Having to confront Crusader towns and swampland in what is today the coastal line of modern Israel, the road established itself remarkably well in the geographical terrain, overcoming obstacles and making it possible to establish communication routes in the Levant. This survey explores Mamluk remnants along the road's landscape while placing them in the context of its terrain. Special focus is given to Qaqun fortress, which was originally built by the Knights Templar and later taken by the Mamluks. The latter used its Crusader foundations to establish their own fortress and create a trading center at the site.

The Crusades: the last stronghold of the Templars Accon fell on may 18th 1291, only 2 and a half months later Switzerland was founded on august 1st 1291 - the time to get back on horseback in those days. So the Templar`s treasure was hidden in Switzerland, with which the swiss banks were founded and all wars were being financed by ever since - and out of the templars came the freemasons. The Pharaohs are still there and are ruling the world through secret societies - "and the Pharaoh and his army disappeared in the sea" . . . the sea of peoples that is, through mixing they are amongst us on all key positions, and Switzerland is their biggest base; the home of the Templars. It’s the 13th century, and the Holy Land is under the rule of two monastic orders. In 1271, as he was about to leave for the Crusades, Argan, a knight hospitaller, was summoned by his master to be given a sword with the fateful name of “Will of God”. He was ordered to go on a dangerous mission: to defend, at any cost, the knights’ fortress called the Krak, the last bastion of the Jabal Ansariya foothills besieged by the Saracens. But Argan could not know of the trials and tribulations awaiting him, or what he would find in those sacred lands… “May abundance, wisdom and beauty be with you; if you go with pride alone, will sully everything.”… Trailer directed by J.H.
