Tickets: www.thisisthewilderness.com February 26 - March 22 2015 The Day Shall Declare It is produced in partnership with Los Angeles Performance Practice Location: Imperial Art Studios 2051 East 7th Street Los Angeles CA 90021 “Dreamy, atmospheric and fragmented…impressively performed.” – Lyn Gardner, The Guardian The Day Shall Declare It is an immersive, site-specific theater installation for a free-moving audience that explores the concept of work: both what it means to us and what it does to us. The piece interrogates beliefs about working, work ethics, work/life balance and how these concepts infiltrate our relationships with others and ourselves. Developed by Annie Saunders and Wilderness, in collaboration with choreographer Sophie Bortolussi (Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More, Lucidity Suitcase Intercontinental, Martha Graham Dance Company), The Day Shall Declare It premiered in London early in 2014, and was described as “demanding, intelligent, and memorable theatre” by Time Out. Los Angeles Performance Practice is proud to produce the US premiere of this work, bringing a unique experience to LA audiences. The Day is comprised of multiple narratives, brought to life by three performers. Based on multiple plays and stories by Tennessee Williams and interviews from Studs Terkel's Working, text is interwoven with dynamic and visceral choreography which speaks to the subtext of each story. Video: Anka Bogacz at 35 Marylebone High Street, London, courtesy of Theatre Delicatessen. Editing: Sarah Harron, Annie Saunders, and John Jenkins. Music/sound: John Zalewski. Set design: Beata Csikmak. Costumes: Clare Amos.
