Steven Wilson, four-time Grammy nominee, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and one of the hardest working artists in music, has announced that he will embark on a UK & European tour in March & April 2015 to coincide with the release of his long-awaited fourth solo album ‘Hand. Cannot. Erase.’ The tour and album follow the critical and commercial success of his third solo album ‘The Raven That Refused To Sing’ released in February 2013 and a run of sold-out shows including London’s Royal Albert Hall. Steven Wilson said: “I’m happy to announce the first tour dates to promote my forthcoming album ‘Hand. Cannot. Erase.’, starting in the UK before hitting Europe. We are currently developing a show that I hope will raise the bar both musically and visually from my previous tours, with a set list based around the new album (of course), as well as casting the net further back into my songwriting past for a few surprises.” DATES: www.stevenwilsonhq.com/sw/tour-dates/ Steven Wilson, has not only been busy recording his fourth solo album, but continues to be the leading light in, the saviour of catalogue reissues and the album format, with brand new stereo and 5.1 mixes of Tears For Fears’ classic album ‘Songs From The Big Chair’ as well as releases for XTC, King Crimson, Yes, Jethro Tull, and the forthcoming Roxy Music reissues. This was part of my final year project at university. The video is from the Steven Wilson music video of the same name, animated by Jess Cope. My aim for this piece was to create my own sound design and music for the animation. With the original video being a music video, it became more of a challenge to be able to tell the same story in a different way. I do not own the rights to the images in the video.

The 12 tracks comprise six Steven Wilson originals and six covers and provide an essential insight into both Wilson's musical taste and his evolution as a solo artist. In March 2003 Steven Wilson released Cover Version, a limited edition 2 track CD single. This was the first piece to be released under Wilson's own name (following an illustrious career as a member of Porcupine Tree and No-Man, and recording under various guises such as IEM and Bass Communion), and comprised completely solo performances, stripped back to acoustic guitar, piano and voice. The single was made up of one cover version, along with one new, original composition. Replicating this format, over the next seven years, Wilson released a further five singles as part of the series. Each of the CD singles were strictly limited. The final release (Cover Version VI) came in a special box housing all six CDs, with artwork designed by Carl Glover and a booklet of portraits of Steven by Hajo Mueller. Subsequently, an even more limited run of 7" singles were also pressed. Inevitably, as Wilson's popularity has grown - both through his work with Porcupine Tree and his hugely successful solo career - these long deleted releases have become much sought-after by collectors. Cover Version, the album, re-packages this intriguing part of Wilson's career for a new generation of listeners. Steven Wilson’s cover of ABBA’s 'The Day Before You Came' can be heard on the latest episode of the Kscope Podcast, listen below (for this and previous podcasts check out the podcast page): Pressed on double heavyweight (180g) vinyl, the gatefold artwork has been 'remixed' from the box design by Carl Glover. A CD and Digital release will be released on 30th June 2014 The album tracklist is as follows; A Thank You The Day Before You Came A Forest B The Guitar Lesson Sign ‘o’ The Times Lord Of The Reedy River C Moment I Lost Please Come Home Four Trees Down D The Unquiet Grave Well You’re Wrong An End to End Order the Vinyl from the Kscope Store: http://bit.ly/1maNOEN Pre-order the CD: http://bit.ly/1kpVXJA Pre-order from iTunes: http://smarturl.it/SW_Cover_Version More info on Steven Wilson: http://bit.ly/XhHnHA More Steven Wilson videos: http://bit.ly/1654n3g

One of the most eclectic and prolific artists in rock music, Steven Wilson has been writing, recording, and producing music continuously since the early nineties. Album releases and touring as leader of his band Porcupine Tree, and more recently as a solo artist, saw him gain a reputation for his songwriting, experimentation, and sonic excellence, resulting in many invitations to work with other artists. Among many things he has produced several albums for Grammy Award-winning Swedish metal band Opeth and he sung on UK drum and bass band Pendulum's UK number one album "Immersion". He started a solo career in 2009, and his most recent solo album "The Raven that Refused to Sing" was recorded at EASTWEST Studios with legendary recording engineer Alan Parsons at the helm. Wilson has become known for his 5.1 surround sound mixes, starting with his own projects, but more recently for remixing the catalogues of King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Roxy Music, XTC, and Yes, among others. His surround sound mixes have been Grammy nominated on four occasions, and he has twice won "Album of the Year" at the Surround Music Awards. Wilson is seen by many as the predominant progressive rock musician in the world today, and in 2012 he won "Guiding Light" at the "Progressive Music Awards" 2012, following this in 2013 with another win for best album for "The Raven that Refused to Sing". For the first time ever, this new instrument presents some of Steven's most innovative sounds, as well as a selection of especially created instruments and replications of some instantly recognizable classic sounds originally created by other legendary producers and engineers. These organic and inspirational sounds can be used as part of the fabric of complex music productions, or as the basis for cinematic soundtrack-based music, providing a ready-made selection of sonic building blocks with years of expertise and sonic innovation already embedded in them. In addition some more straightforward and raw instruments are included, which can be manipulated via the powerful Ghostwriter instrument interface to create your own unique sounds.
