Refusing to make a scene (details) is a series of small theatres that are animated using video projections, screens and motors. They are poetic interpretations of my living space and act as miniature film sets. The maquets are in almost suspended animation. They are anti-theaters with traces of action. The viewer gets the sense of having just missed the scene or something is about to happen. But everything is in constant buildup without ever climaxing. They are of empty rooms with a lazy curtain blowing in the wind, an endless heaving wave that never overtakes and with ambient lighting from a hidden monitor. These works were part of a larger video installation at Galerie B-312, Montréal in November, 2009. Since then, the theaters have been in exhibition at Le Centre d'exposition Raymond-Lasnier, Trois-Rivieres in February, 2011.
