Moore Tea Citizens held their final Saturday Seminar of 2012 at the Douglass Community Center on Pennsylvania Avenue in Southern Pines, NC, beginning at 11:00 am. Two fine speakers/moderators led the audience through discussions of politics and Christianity: Pastor Joshua Haire of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Southern Pines and Dr. Tim Johnson, Founder and CEO of the Frederick Douglass Foundation and former Vice-Chair of the NC Republican Party. The program was most informative, enlightening, and provocative. Three videos were shown, which are embedded in this recording of the event. One of the primary messages is that Christians must vote based on Christian and Biblical principles. Christians cannot simply go to Church on Sunday and then vote contrary to their Faith on Tuesday.

An Oasis Bible Study based on George H. Guthrie's "Read the Bible for Life | Listen. Understand. Respond." Tim Johnson teaches how to understand the story of Scripture, and how its various parts fit together, in so doing, we understand how they fit into that big story. Jesus' teaching is often organized according to main themes. Therefore, ask yourself if there is a key theme that ties sections of teaching together. Jesus' teaching revolves around a central message–the kingdom of God. Jesus' messages were communicated in a variety of different methods. The primary goal of these teachings is discipleship.

The scene opens on a wind blown cottage along the sea in Rockport, Massachusetts. Jeremy Powers has just arrived to contest the annual Gran Prix of Gloucester, the first rounds of the Shimano New England Pro Cyclocross Series. After drawing a fire and getting settled in, Mr. Powers settles in for a night of reading and relaxation. Here is where Behind THE Barriers joins the Gran Prix of Gloucester saga in its third episode of the season. Jeremy is back in New England to take on one of his hometown races. All of the nation's top riders are in town, aiming to win one of the nation's most prestigious cyclocross events. With two days of racing on the docket, Jeremy stared down some tough competition on Saturday, en route to taking a victory that was not without incident. An errant hay bale sent Jeremy sprawling and meant that he had some extra cleaning up to do after the race. After patching himself up, Jeremy is back at it on Sunday, when overnight rain soaked the course and made the racing completely different than that seen on Saturday. Thanks to his win on Saturday and a second place finish on Sunday, all while fighting off tour buses full of rabid fans, Jeremy can call the Gran Prix of Gloucester a big success.
