Many have wondered what happened to Sid the tadpole. Well, he has become Akirana Rospomon - a little homage to Akira Kurosawa, the great Japanese film director and two of his famous films, "Ran" (in Japanese meaning rebellion but also confusion) and "Rashomon", a film that explores truth and subjectivity. So now you can see where Akira hangs out. A quote from Dante comes into the film too but I won't say more otherwise I'll spoil it! ********************************************* Molti si sono chiesti che cosa è accaduto a Sid il girino. I had this idea of making toads jump around with FEM. It didn't quite work out the way I expected so I tried making them swell up quickly because I had seen Graham Matthew Collier (https://vimeo.com/user3624838) use a similar technique in one of his files (https://vimeo.com/109595858). It looked ridiculous so I kept playing around with it for fun and six days later I had this dumb simulation. The render quality is terrible because I wanted to finish it before Houdini 14 is released. I might rerender it in the future. model from here: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/74827

I perceive the natural world as an archetypical gallery, in which the flora and the fauna are the pieces of art I have been looking for. My main quest concerns about the “hidden and elusive” in the natural scenery, which are encoded behind the phenomena. Through my practice I explore the traces which secretly connect the human psyche with the non-human world. This effort lies on my willingness to realize in act the cultivation of my Ecological Self. In order to fulfill this aspiration, I look for direct experiences in Nature, for contacts which can potentially trigger the deepening of the experience. I consider experience as an essential way of querying into Life. The biggest part of my art practice has taken place outdoors in the natural landscape and the creative process was intensive and rich. I visited animals, trees, creeks, and mountains, having as a result the expanding of myself into the landscape. A part of the series are centered around the loss of threes and changes to the landscape around my village. Is brought about as the result of the financial crisis which begun 3 years ago. The have been cut by people they cannot afford oil. Panagiotis Brentas

Shot at Tone Pariwat Reserve in Thailand whilst on an overnight bike expedition with friends from Khao Sok Paradise Resort. Amazing place considering it was extensively disturbed by tin mining in previous years.. Music by Kevin MacLeod (Witch Hunt) www.incompetech.com Big thanks to Martin Fitzsimons for shooting some of the sunrise shots.
