    Awardee Greta Christina, LGBT Humanist Pride Award Biography: Greta Christina is one of the most widely-read and well-respected bloggers in the atheist blogosphere. She is author of Why Are You Atheists So Angry? 99 Things That Piss Off the Godless, and writes regularly for AlterNet, Salon, Free Inquiry, and The Humanist. She has been writing about atheism and skepticism for her own cleverly-named Greta Christina’s Blog (now part of the Freethought Blogs network) since 2005. She has been writing professionally since 1989, on topics including sexuality and sex-positivity, LGBT issues, politics, culture, and whatever crosses her mind. Slam Poetry by Tommy Raskin, Humanist magazine’s 2012 essay contest winner Summary: Slam poetry: “The Word Game” and “Drudgery’s Ballad.” Tommy will be introduced by his father, Jamie Raskin, a Democratic State Senator in Maryland and a professor of constitutional law at American University’s Washington College of Law. Biography: Tommy Raskin was the winner of Humanist’s magazine’s 2012 essay contest with “Cheating Students: How Our Schools Fail the Humanistic Vision of Education.” Tommy is a senior at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD and co-director of the BLISS Academic Tutoring Program. He has interned at the Institute for Policy Studies and J Street, and does research on education and international relations. Raskin will be a freshman at Amherst College in the fall.
