    • ABC10 News Investigates Tornado Gas Saver

      from Tornado Air / Added

ABC10 News, San Diego: "Well what if we told you there were gas gadgets that promise a cheaper alternative to increasing your gas mileage, that’d be nice. The Investigations Team thought so too. But just like this driver is skeptical, so is this consumer watchdog. The Investigations team spent $600 on 5 of the most popular products that are promising to save money at the pump. We put them to a test, and we mean a real test using heavy-duty work trucks." "…and the Tornado, it was the clear winner in our test. Normally the Chevy Van gets 11 miles per gallon, now it gets 12.2 MPG. A savings of about 11%. Based on this, I’d recommend the Tornado." -Juliette Vara, ABC10 San Diego

        • ABC7 Puts the Tornado to the Test

          from Tornado Air / Added

ABC7’s Dr. Dave Spielman puts the Tornado to the test and answers the question, does it really work? "So I had mechanic Mike test out the Tornado at El Paso Community College where he teaches auto mechanics. We put our unit on a dyno machine which simulates a roll. Mike measured out one cup of fuel and pumped it through our news unit. We ran the jeep at 60 miles an hour and monitored how many miles we could go before the gas ran out. In our first test, we monitored the Jeep without the Tornado installed. When the fuel ran out, we recorded 2.7 miles. Then, we examined the mileage with the Tornado installed. Again, throwing the Jeep to 60 miles an hour and then when the fuel ran out, we checked the fuel mileage. Exactly 3.0 miles. We performed this test twice and got the same results, both times." Well, uh, the dyno doesn’t lie. And we got a substantial fuel mileage increase and over time, I believe it would pay for itself." -Dr. Dave Spielman, ABC7

Current warning technologies are efficient and effective with one big ‘But’. The way the system works means that by the time the warnings reach you they are already out of date. With tornadoes moving at a mile a minute you want to know how close it is to you now. Crucially, tornadoAlert does just this. Featuring detection methodology fully validated by NASA, Early Alert field testing has proved to be 90% accurate compared to 25% for other technologies.
