Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is an amazing up and coming city. This time lapse is a culmination of 10,000 RAW images and multiple shoots capturing some of the cities relentless energy and pace of change. Everyone who has visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam knows part of the magic (love it or hate it) is in the traffic. Ever since I first set foot in HCMC I have been captivated by the cities energy. Saigon is a city on the move unlike anything I have experienced before which I wanted to capture and share. Thanks to everyone who helped with the film and thanks also to the numerous kind people who allowed me access to some amazing locations. The soundtrack is the energetic Mondo'77 by Looper - https://itunes.apple.com/ca/artist/looper/id3266548 Used with permission. I’m very humbled that the VICE Creator's Project has covered this series with a new video: http://youtu.be/iioPicXsAFg The source footage for this video is a 4-minute shot from the Washington Street bridge above State Route 163 in San Diego captured at 2:39pm Oct 1, 2013. My aim is to reveal the color palette and color preferences of contemporary San Diego drivers in addition to traffic patterns and volumes. There are no CG elements, these are all real cars that have been removed from one sample and reorganized. The source footage may be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/81846560 More details on the methodology + are here: http://cysfilm.com/?p=3345 The San Diego Studies is a series of short videos that collapse time to reveal otherwise unobservable rhythms and movement in the city. The project is supported my MOPA San Diego and the San Diego Foundation . www.District7Media.net @TheVoder @District7M Midtown New York City is the place to be. The lights, cars, traffic, architecture and people make the city come to life as a living, breathing, organism that never sleeps. Take a trip with this time-lapse production into the city and see the sights and sounds that create this magnificent destination. For us, this time-lapse production was produced using more than 50,000 still frames, shot over the course of 6 months traveling back and forth from Washington DC to New York City while we shot for clients. Our main goal was to capture the central part of the city in both visuals and audio. The sound effects used in this production were taken from the various locations we shot and were added in to give you the feeling of actually being there. There were multiple times during this shoot that we were chased off, either by cops or the cold. The subway shots were particularly difficult to get, especially in the wake of the Boston bombings. We were led out and in some cases followed by police officers or MTA officials who seemed intent on getting us for using tripods. The music is performed by the talented Danny McCarthy (Fracture) (Music has been licensed through Killertracks.com) ***MIDTOWN Water UFO*** We captured something we can't explain. Follow me for more of my work and behind the scenes images - Instagram - http://instagram.com/chrispzero | Facebook - http://facebook.com/chrispzero | Twitter - http://twitter.com/chrispzero Above LA is a love letter to Los Angeles and showcases my favorite way to view the city - from above. Whether on a rooftop, a hill, or a mountain, getting above the grind of the city allows you to appreciate it in a new way. Once you get even slightly above, the views and sounds begin to change dramatically. Getting above it all has been instrumental in helping me get to know and appreciate Los Angeles. This piece was produced off and on over the course of two years, and the clips selected for this film are only a small percentage of what I captured during my quest to take in the city from different locations and in new ways. Some of the locations featured are popular and easy to access, others require some searching and hiking, and some are heavily restricted. But I encourage everyone - lifelong Angelenos, transplants, visitors - to hit the trails, drive the mountain roads, find a reason to get on top of a high-rise. From the basin to the valley, this city offers so many opportunities to rise above and look down. Never stop exploring. Check out more info on my blog at http://chrispzero.com/blog/2014/06/12/above-la/ - This film was shot at 5K+ resolution and is rendered in 4K. The 4K version is available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNw0EgVKZro Interested in licensing clips from this film? Tags
