How can we understand the ways in which the relation between two entities oscillates between obsolescence and visibility? STOPscape (01:36) is a body of work that recreates the logic of mobility, migration and movement of people and ideas, appropriating multidimensional forms to create abstracted cartographies that aesthetically link the macro and micro spatial entities of our territories to vectors of a new geography. Other videos in this ongoing body of work include Stop (2009) and Stop Too! (2012).

This is a series of five videos that reflect on the misapplication, abuse and misuse of resources and beliefs (natural, human and spiritual). In Nigeria crude oil is a major resource that supposedly should better the life of a supposedly religious people. It is WELL represents two major characteristics of my country. Oil and religion. The videos in this body of work visualize the exploration and transformation that resources and beliefs seemingly should have on any nation and her citizens. Each video in this series of work is made from abandoned ships and oil barges that litter the Lagos shoreline with definite forms and elements that mirror the enveloping skies above. The videos reflect on rot and vision. But the reality seemingly dominates the envisioned as the oil wells are in the hands of few individuals. It is well... is also a common and local religious parlance in Nigeria uttered as a word of encouragement and hope for a change.

Choose a space in which you see a societal problem. Find a way to raise awareness of the problem in any medium suitable. The chosen issue was the lack of communication between people during mealtimes brought on by the use of technology rather than conversation. The chosen space was Winchester School of Art’s canteen, where there is a obvious lack of intergration becuase of the use of mobilephones.

The confrontations of acute political, economic and social crisis make possible the voluntary or forced migratory movements that characterize the contemporary African society. These migrations are motivated by the need ‘to escape non viable conditions or to find better jobs and new homes’. Again the destinations chosen include places of high economic, social and political activities. the consequences of this movement include depleting environmental conditions, overpopulation and increasing issues of nationalism.
