1. 60 Seconds in Alberta

I recently took my first trip to Alberta, and let me tell you its one of the most breathtaking places I have ever been. Living in Toronto, I guess I just got used to the urban backdrop; let's just say the Rocky Mountains are a substantial upgrade - It's like everywhere you go there is a 'painting on the wall'. I came away with unbelievable footage from our drone, but as I watched it back, although beautiful, somehow it sold my trip short. It's not only about the sights, its about the air, it's about the hikes, it's about friends, it's about your experience. Perhaps I'll recut the scenic footage into an epic montage of sorts, but for now, this video represents my trip best. If you've never been out west, I HIGHLY recommend it! If you look closely, you can catch a glimpse of Leonardo Dicaprio's Spray Lake film set for his upcoming movie "The Revenant" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1663202/), filming just outside of Canmore.

It's cold. -35 without the windchill. The sleds roar over a patch of open water exposed by a break in the ice, racing toward a cluster of tiny ice fishing huts huddled in the distance. Later, inside one of the shacks, while baiting a hook for his girlfriend, Breanne, Chad Paulson talks about how all of his family stayed with him at his house when they were evacuated from their own homes during the wildfires of 2011. He was the only person in his family to keep his home. Breanne's family also lost their home to the fires and moved away in the aftermath of the ordeal, but she chose to stay in Slave Lake. On the day that Team Canada won the Olympic Gold Medal at Sochi, Russia, we went snowmobiling and ice fishing with the young couple to ask them about why they choose to live in Slave Lake, Alberta. I have been living in Alberta for a little over a year now. During my time here I have collected tons and tons of videos and time lapses. So I decided to take everything I've done in the last year and put it together into one video.
