A bunch of short cuts of footage from our sample videos edited into a shorter more manageable 2 minutes.. You can buy your Flare Factory 58 at http://www.dogschidtoptiks.co.uk This video shows many different combinations of Flare Factory 58 lens in various situations with only slight grading on some clips, and a lot of shots unprocessed, straight as they came out of the camera. You'll see custom aperture shapes like 1.5x and 2x ovals for an anamorphic look, ultra low contrast, flares, coloured tints, using the lenses with anamorphic lenses like the Iscorama (clips which are 2.66:1) and the Century 1.33x (2.35:1) (oval 2x bokeh works great with the century!), and a load of other interesting optical artifacts created by various configurations of the Flare Factory 58. ****Anything shown full screen is the effect of the Flare Factory 58 on its own, with no anamorphic attachment used**** See our online options PDF for information about the different configurations that are available. We make each lens to order and can supply them in camera mounts for Arri PL and any DSLR / CSC mount. • FRAGMENTAL - projection mapping font

Fragmental - A projection mapping font by Jolien Brands. More information - Making off - Full font : www.behance.net/JolienBrands Fragmental is a tetrahedron based geometric sculpture - designed as a surface for typographic animations. Using the projection mapping technique we get an illusion of depth & perspective that gives the different kinds of letters a new dimension in space & time. St Lucas university college of art & design presented me the task of creating a Font machine. A machine that on its own creates an unique font. I have chosen light as my medium for creating the 26 characters of the alphabet. By using the projection mapping technique where the light acts as the medium for the machine - I was able to bring the full alphabet to life.

For our sample you can use 1 strand Drops Vivaldi, or 2 strands DROPS Kid-Silk, and needles size 9 mm / US 13. Work in garter st (i.e. K sts on every row) on a circular needle to make room for all the sts. Cast on 4 sts. On next row inc 1 st with a yo after the first st at the beg of row. Continue back and forth making an inc at beg of every row until finished measure on your shawl. Bind off very loosely. • Korbin's FF58 - Triangular Aperture

from Melting Bloke (Richard Gale) / Added

http://www.dogschidtoptiks.co.uk This is a first... A triangular aperture in F4. with Dirt/Dust/Debris, and stupidly low contrast! So, since there seems to be a natural instinct for clients to select the biggest aperture possible, This test will try to highlight some of the benefits of going for a configuration like this. Firstly, the triangular aperture is something rarely seen. Zeiss employed the 3 blade aperture on their earlier ultra fast cine lenses and on some of the most desirable 1960's and 70's photographic lenses for the Rollei SL35 system. A very distinct look, bokeh is rendered in a completely different fashion to that of standard spherical lenses with circular apertures or anamorphic systems which impart a horizontal squeeze to the round bokeh. Though an F4 aperture, the actual defocus is more comparable to f2.8 since the total width of the aperture area is around the same as the diameter of a f2.8 round aperture. However, being a smaller open area, more of the optical sweet spot is being sectioned off, and any CA and softness causing errors at the outer edges of the optical elements are no longer imparting degradation onto the rendered image. Though sharp at F2 and even Q1.5, the FF58 really comes into its own in sharpness terms when stopped down to f2.8. At F4 the resolving power is superb. The triangular bokeh is not a mad idea we thought up, but an attempt to replicate the aesthetic from classic Mk1 Zeiss Super speeds. Often their use shows a triangular bokeh rendering due to the fact that they have a 3 blade aperture. And being for the 35mm format the depth of field is incredibly shallow wide open at f1.4 on an 85mm planar for example! Hence very rarely would the lens have been used wide open. Taxi Driver is probably one of the most well known pieces shot with these types of Zeiss lenses and the defocus rendering is clearly visible in some of the scenes. Shot at 50p on the sony A7R. Mild RGB curves (a little red channel shadow pulldown). Boost to contrat using ProcAmp. Exported as a 1080p h264 which can be downloaded for better quality viewing.
