This is the story a young boy who has been drawn to a mysterious pool at night. Or, to be more accutate, it's a section of the story - I would eventually like to tell the whole thing. This is my Masters project which I produced while at Bournemouth University studying for my MA in computer animation in 2012. Produced in Softimage XSI, Nuke and Photoshop. This film was selected to be shown at the Be There! Corfu Animation Festival in 2013. Music by Christopher Lever.

Experiment number 3 with Mandelbulb 3d. I used mandelbulb's export z-buffer feature to write out a z-depth pass, which allowed me to pull it into Nuke and change the defocus after rendering. So, fewer screw ups than I had in the last video! I also added a little chromatic aberration in Nuke as well. Next I want to try out the 3D export and features, and perhaps try integrating a bulb onto a backplate. Get Mandelbulb here and join in the fun! http://www.fractalforums.com/mandelbulb-3d/

My next experiment with Mandelbulb 3d. I've screwed up the lighting and the focus, but I thought I'd put it up anyway because I love the sense of scale and of flying over a landscape. Get Mandelbulb here and join in the fun! http://www.fractalforums.com/mandelbulb-3d/

I have recently downloaded a copy of Mandelbuld 3D and I'm getting to grips with the generation and animation tools. This is one of the first things I have made, it uses a Serpinski formula. Get Mandelbulb and join in the fun! http://www.fractalforums.com/mandelbulb-3d/

This is an experiment I did a little while back, simply adding several live operators (bevel, extrude, etc) to an object in Maya and animating the parameters. I added the caustics just because I was curious about how they would refract through the object. For a moment there it reminds me of a molecular refraction pattern, like what Watson & Crick used to determine the structure of DNA...

Showreel breakdown: 0:06 to 0:31 - Created in Maya and After Effects, composited in Nuke and edited in Premier. I rigged and animated the shots shown, as well modelling from CAD assets provided by the client. I also served as liaison between the client, the animators and management, and kept track of the project's progress. 0:31 to 0:45 - Animated in After Effects by me from assets provided to me. 0:45 to 1:06 - Texturing, rigging and animation of the falcon are entirely my work. The model was re-worked from a purchased asset by me. I also created the feathers using the Yeti plugin for Maya. Rendered with V-ray. 1:06 to 1:45 - Entirely created by me, using Softimage XSI for animation and Nuke for compositing. Music by Sven Libeak.

This my outcome for the 'BillyBob' project on MA3D at Bournemouth University NCCA. The brief: using the BillyBob model (created by Sofronis Estafthiou), produce a 20 second animation where he reacts to a sound. Produced in Sofimage XSI and Nuke.
