If you were to ask me who my favorite organization to work for was as of late, it'd be by far PCM. Through experiencing Uganda twice within just the past half year, I've fallen in love not only with the nation, but with the little smiles, hands, and hearts of the orphans within. Throughout those two trips, I shot thousands of video clips, and this is one of many short little projects that resulted from those very things. www.pcmonline.org

The Glow Exchange connects and empowers women in both developing and developed nations to build sustainable women’s centers. Our first center is in a rural village outside of Masaka, Uganda. When women and girls of developing countries have the freedom to learn, earn, and save, families become stronger both economically and socially, student numbers increase, agricultural productivity goes up, while rates of child marriage, teen pregnancy, and HIV/AIDS go down. Women and girls therefore have a unique ability to transform lives and end the cycle of intergenerational poverty. This is “The Girl Effect”. The Glow Exchange is a way to manifest the The Girl Effect and The Glow Effect (our parent company and mission) internationally. Visit gloweffect.com/theglowexchange to join the movement.

A five minute video - set in and around a Ugandan secondary school which is receiving solar panels and lighting for the very first time. An hour’s drive from the bustling city centre, to the West of Kampala, is Uganda’s Mityana district. Despite its proximity to the capital, rates of poverty in the district are high and sources of electricity and water are limited for Mityana residents. Our exciting new solar panel project with PEAS Pioneer High School, however, is set to change the lives of their students and the community at large. Funded by COINS Foundation, the project will see the installation of a solar panel power house within Pioneer ’s compound, providing electricity to classroom blocks, the school kitchen and the dormitories for boarding students. In particular, the power generated from the solar panels will play an integral role in improving education quality offered at Pioneer school – with teachers now able to offer additional lessons to support students in the evenings. The solar panels will also power the school’s management system, ‘School Tool’ – which aims to improve the capacity of the school by collecting and analysing student and teacher data.
