In order to build excitement at the start of their huge international general assembly, the Unitarian Universalist Association chose to open with a dynamic video outlining the theme of covenant. Fun characters play out a quick story of Adam and Eve, Noah's ark and the pilgrims before asking larger questions about covenant and the future. Creating a video for such an event gave me a lot of artistic freedom to define the visual direction the video would take. A warm inviting color palette makes a complex and abstract concept approachable while fun illustrations with a stylized inline look coupled with quirky animations and a fun modern font balance between the excitement and engagement of the opening of the converance and the seriousness of its concepts.

Through the International Council of Unitarians and Universalists, Unitarian and UU groups and organizations around the world work together for mutual benefit and benefit and for the health and growth of our shared liberal faith, Member groups of the ICUU include the UUA, the Canadian Unitarian Council, the UU Church of the Philippines, the Hungarian Unitarian Church, the Unitarian Union of North East India, and many more. One of the newest avenues for working together for ICUU groups is through coalition partnerships. These collaborations between congregations in several countries at once are focusing on giving aid and support to emerging groups of U-U's to help them become viable and sustainable organizations in the global U-U network. Our first coalition works with and in support of the African Francophone Unitarian Association (AFUA), a group of French speaking U-U groups in Burundi, Rwanda and Congo Brazzaville. More than 8 congregations in the USA and Europe are working to support the development of the groups, who are themselves working to be change agents in their own communities. The minister of the Unitarian congregation in Bujumbura, Burundi, Fulgence Ndagijimana, explains one the many programs his congregation has sponsored, with help from their international partners. Many opportunities to share in this new kind of partnership are available. If you are interested in what your congregation could do, contact the ICUU Executive Director Rev. Steve Dick, execsec@icuu.net.

"Abundant Wisdom" by Rev. Jonipher. In Hawaiian, the word "mana'o" is used to describe the insight we receive that contributes to the edification and expansion of our knowledge base. What never ceases to amaze me is the richness life offers when it comes to opportunities for learning from my experiences as I move from moment to moment. As we install our new Director of Lifespan Religious Education, come explore the transformative power of wisdom.
