SEAT, A National competition to re-invent the brand’s personality A team of 5 from Kingston, we wanted to show SEAT in a new light to a new audience. We likened the spirit of SEAT to a citrusy zing, and began to experiment with capturing reactions caused by zingy things, to show SEAT as fun, desirable and approachable. Next we explored ways of re-creating ‘the SEAT feeling’ and captured the reactions from a more varied demographic. We were asked by SEAT to send a full Treatment of our proposed film. After being approved we had two test days in the studio working out angles, lighting, sound recording, movement etc. Then gathered a varied group of people to take part in out SEAT-No-Car-Test-Drive, of which they knew nothing about. We put them each through a set of experiments and added a narrative by using ‘SEAT technicians’. We then edited a 30 second promotional film and a 1 minute Behind the Scenes film, that fits SEAT’s new tagline, ENJOYNEERING, (we had engineered an experience of enjoyment). Thanks to Malcolm Goldie for helping us with the sound mix! Our video has now been launched in the CLUBSEATUK Youtube channel, in competition with the other Universities, you can watch it here to help us gain views! youtube.com/watch?v=T4CN2aKy2WI You can view it here and

Game made by Reddy4Anything from the University of Wales, Newport, as part of X48:Microsoft XNA GameCamp at the University of Derby in March 2009. The game won third prize overall, out of 16 other games, and was created using Microsoft XNA GameStudio 3.0. You can download the game for free at www.x48gamecamp.com Bellis Perennis revolves around a small planet's fragile ecosystem. For the planet to thrive it has to be populated by the red flower Bellis. However, there is a variety of plant known as the Weed that threatens the Bellis’ existence causing it to wilt and die wherever the Weed grows. The Weed can only be destroyed by the larger flower the Posy, which overshadows the Weed hiding it from the Sun and preventing it to grow. When the Bellis are thriving the Sun shines, but if there is too much Sun the ground becomes dry and the soil is unfertile. Trees need to be planted to provide the right atmosphere for it to rain so that the soil will become rich again and the Bellis can continue to grow. I recently did some videography for the Eastern University Games, and I'm posting some of the highlights here. This was an ad for the Australian University Games about Post University Games Depression (aka #PUGD). Getting the dog to sit still was a challenge and a half, but we got there in the end.

This is a video that i created for my recent uni project. We were given a couple audio pieces from well known adverts, such as Subway, Ministry of Sound, More Than, BBC Proms and a few others. We were asked to use Adobe After Effects or Apples Motion to create an advert for these pieces. I chose More Than, with Morgan Freeman's voice, i thought a good way to show this advert would be through typography and animations. Everything in this i created from scratch using After Effects and Photoshop. Enjoy and please let me know any feedback or ways to improve.

Dr Tim Wilkinson is combining liquid crystals with nanotechnology to try and create 3D displays which would look like real life. Under the Microscope is a collection of videos that show glimpses of the natural and man-made world in stunning close-up. They will be released every Monday and Thursday for the next couple of months and you can see them here: http://www.vimeo.com/channels/micro Dr Wilkinson: “Liquid crystal displays are now a commonplace technology from mobile phone displays to wide screen televisions. They are, however, still limited by the shape, size and speed of their pixels when they are used to display video images. This video shows microscope sequences of a new nanotechnology based liquid crystal pixel structure that will allow much higher resolution displays and even true 3D holographic displays to be fabricated in the future.” The videos are all in real time. The scale varies from video to video, but the little dots which form a grid in most of them are all 10 μm apart (10th of diameter of a hair). My entry to the Ham-string.com HOG HUG competition. Not only is this an entry it's a testimony to how good these strings are. They really did make the difference for me as without being stiff and heavy they held their momentum and really did help with these more complex whips. I'm a true convert.
