This documentary, produced by WILL-TV in 1969, looks at school busing and the grievances of black students, educators and parents in Central Illinois. Dissatisfied with the lack of black faculty, black history courses, and black voices in the educational process, Decatur high school students talk about a school walkout that they held on Nov. 25, 1968. Then, Champaign-Urbana educators assess the progress of racal integration in area classrooms. Champaign activist John Lee Johnson discusses the role of the Concerned Citizens Committee, which was formed to study the grievances of black people who were concerned about racial tension in schools.
