    A walk around the property that will be transformed into our micro-farm over the months to come. We start above the farm and walk the perimeter of the plot of land. Other land is available to expand to as we need it, however, this initial plot of land will be plenty to get us started. It sits approximately 30 yards behind the house we are renting about 10 minutes from the Pittsburgh city limits and about 20 minutes from our offices held in the East Liberty Neighborhood.

      Leading the charge in lawn destruction, Calgary based, permaculture designer Luke Kimmel rallied up a bunch of friends to begin transforming our own backyard into a lush food forest and one of Calgary's largest permaculture sites. This is just the beginning of the season of discovery and transformation. Through implementing permaculture designed gardens and food forests through out the city coupled with their urban farm, Leaf Ninjas have their sights set on helping co-grow a resilient local food system, helping people gain back the skills and inspiration to grow their own food and add their piece to the grassroots community culture that is emerging within Calgary.
