Learn how to change an internal employee to an external worker and vice versa by changing their user type. More information about IDM365 can be found on the website at www.idm365.com. When setting up a user, one of the most important settings is their user type—whether they are internal or external. This setting is important because it can affect all access profiles and many other requirements throughout the infrastructure. When the user type changes, for example, when a temporary worker is hired full-time or an employee goes to work for a partner instead, all of these attributes will be affected. To handle this smoothly, a separate tool was created. To change a user’s type, type or copy the name or ID of the user into the search bar. Once they’re found, click the line showing the user and select See Details to open their profile card. Then, click Change User Type found at the bottom left in the tools section. Make sure the correct type is selected, and then select the new attributes that apply to the user. Once sure that everything is correct, click Next. The job function changes that apply will be shown. If there are no issues, click Save, and then OK to complete the change.
