Some more tips for the Sanyo Xacti HD1000 with TomRig Pro and my new Xacti HD1010 with Centurylens. The stereo sound sounds in reverse but you're looking in a mirror! How to get your old 37mm lenses into the 40.5mm Xacti ring. And a warning for possible problems with the inner ring fitting from HD1010. The underwaterbag I use for Xacti is the EWA Marine Model VPC but maybe they have a new one specially for the Xacti soon. For the special small windshield for your Xacti or a TomRig, if interested mail me. The Led Light is the miniversion of Litepanels.com. It's called Litepanels Micro LED. They cost $299 US and we have imported them from US for our Global-DVC members. Also new are the 8 GB Sandisk High Performance Video (SDHC) Cards up to 13Mbps HD High 80 minutes and 120 minutes in HD Std Quality. Comes with trial Arce Media Converter and Total Media Extreme. The two cards edited on two tracks in Vegas9.

    • Steadicam Merlin setup with Canon 7D & 17- 55mm f2.8 lens

This is a demo of how I setup the Steadicam Merlin with my Canon 7D / 17-55mm f2.8 canon lens. I initially had a lot of problems with the balance until I removed the 1/8 lb start weight at the bottom spar... this helped immensely. But, the Merlin is a pesky little thing and seems to still need a lot of tweaking for balance even after it's been initially setup. I'm sure that's just the nature of the beast, but once you do have it setup correctly it really does work like a champ. Also, you'll notice that I removed the camera strap as that seems to cause a LOT of problems too. I don't know if that's common practice with most people, but it certainly helped me! Now that I'm relatively happy with the balance it really shows how much training I need with my walking skills... I bounce way too much, plus turns are still a little tricky for me yet... especially after more than 90 degrees then trying to start walking straight again (without unacceptable left/right wobble). Here are my setup conditions: Forward weights: 0 start, 1 mid, 1 finish Bottom weights: 0 start, 3 mid, 1 finish Arc size: 310 mm Mounting Hole "O" on dovetail plate (farthest one away!) Stage position: -1 Z-turns: 4 down from fully closed Fore-and-Aft Trim Roller: 24mm from nut in front Side-to-Side Trim Roller: 5mm from left end of bolt Estimated drop time: a little more than 1 second. I mainly put this video together because of a request for my setup conditions, but also because I was just about to totally rebalance for the Sigma 20mm f1.8 and knew I'd feel a little silly if I didn't record my setup since it took so long to figure it out in the first place. I hope this helps people with the same configuration... good luck!

Part 1 at www.vimeo.com/1824750 . More impressions from IBC with here and there some interesting products promo. Just all done by hand! And thanks to the wide angle not too shaky! (Also no alcohol) . Sorry cant get the freezing points away. After a lot of troubles with testing this new edit program Pinnacle Studio12 Ultimate its not satifying for me, the whole concept is nice, the filtereffects are great and quick rendered, but after too many times it goes on tilt with my new VAIO Vista latest laptop! Cant figure out yet what it is. What it does nicely is playing flawesly all XACTI scenes which I cant get smooth in Vegas9. So the only sollution is to convert all MPEG4 into something tastefull for VEGAS unill they can catch up with the data of the Xacti MPEG4 files. .In this part 2 some more of the things which got my attention, yes and also the IBC afterparty on Friday, just to see how Xacti responded to darkness and party lights and beauties! And hey its still an amazing camera, but on Photokina these days they showed many new photocamera's with videomode so hope Sanyo keeps up and makes an even better Xacti HD2000! The sound in interviews comes mainly from a small attached tie-clip mic. Have fun. . The absolute stunning Led Light comes from Lite Panel English and Dutch speaking Rudy (@) Litepanels (dot)com Mail him or/and Ken@, Pat@ or Michele@ you saw it here on Vimeo and that Jan van der Meer showed it you, you might get a special deal! All info and specs are here: http//www.s131567196.onlinehome.us/products/micro.asp OK I will render again and reload see if it goes better this time. NO :-(

Sorry this is not in HD quality! VimeoPlus with HD is not available for Europeans yet! Yesterday evening we had a Sanyo Xacti workshop on the Dam in Amsterdam. This week a little fair in front of the Palace. Ideal times to test our Xacti's and give some special setting tips to our Global-DVC members and Vimeo Friends. You like to know our settings? Please make us a Vimeo Plus member and/or sign up as Global-DVC member !! Us Europeans still can't join Vimeo Plus. Would be nice if you (USAers) could give us Vimeo Plus as a present in exchange for the tips or become a Global-DVC member, its even my birthday soon! Maybe someone can organize a fundraising, like you do for your presidents! :-)

You can feel the volcanic activity in New Zealand North Island on the Coromandel Peninsula. The hot mineral pools are a legacy of an exciting geothermal past. Hot pools can be dug out of the sand at low tide near the rocks and at the beach. Its very hot, but as mixure with some seawater its very bearable; its like a hot jacuzzi! At your B&B in every room you find a spade! Filmed in 2001 during our 25 anniversary trip. Now editing in Vegas9 in 25P + Magic Bullet Filter may be a bit too much, but I like it. It gives that CINEMA-FILM-LOOK.
