Portland Oregon, Sept. 11th, 2012 http://edwardsharpeandthemagneticzeros.com/ When one is open to dreams and possibilities, the universe unfolds before you. Without knowing who he was, I happened to ask Michael Ebert for a ride from Rico to Telluride. We talked, and I shared my dream of making a road journal piece about a band called Villagers. I also explained my wish to create intimate, artist interviews to help create a connection between musicians, their fans and the music. In a culture where we watch instead of participate, this is important because the more comfortable we are with each other, the greater the likely-hood that our true-selves might show up and allow us to dance and connect with each other, to spread our good stuff on one-another. http://edwardsharpeandthemagneticzeros.com/ Michael told me his son was in a band, and I should interview him. Never having heard of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, or "The Sharpies" as he fondly calls them, I eagerly agreed. I then watched the "Big Easy Express" and loved it! Only, I wanted to hear Alex share more of his thoughts and ideas. Well, I was given the opportunity to share some of them with you. Whenever I want to give up on my dreams, I remember that it is this society that we live in that tells me they aren't worth keeping because I may starve in trying to realize them, and I listen to "Here." My spirit is rejuvenated and begins to fill in her wings each time I listen. I hope you find their music and these words as magical as I do. Love and Light always my friends, and remember we can play like children and keep the "true innocence" alive if we shut out the "Jackal" voices in our head and live from our hearts which are "Here" to sing and dance....
