Audiovisual installation for 15 differently tuned pianos and video. 21 min. Visuals - Candas Sisman ( http://www.csismn.com/ ) Music - Egidija Medeksaite ( http://www.mxl.lt/medeksaite ) Premiered in Electronic music festival "Jauna Muzika" ( http://www.myspace.com/jaunamuzika ) Visual artist Candas Sisman (Turkey) and Lithuanian composer Egidija Medekšaitė present their collaboration work – audiovisual piece EFF-LUX. According to the author’s this work is their attitude to the daily process, which are made by humans sometimes as machines or with special attitude (hand craft). During the piece, the visual information transforms from mechanical forms to linear movements. The music is played by computer recorded 15 differently tuned Steinway pianos. For composer it is like characters of the different weavers, which are knitting their own melodies, using the same pitches, but structures and lines of melodies all the time are in rotation. Melodies as the 15 pianos gather to one structure and sometimes their splits to 15 different lines. The tempo of the music during the piece becomes three times slowly. Music is based on minimalist composition technique and repeating loops. Involved with spur of the moment event, Sisman incorporates abstract narrative language, his works contain a naivety and simplicity in contradiction with the commotion and ideology of life in general. These ‘events’ that emerge are tossed into the open by passing them through an emotional and perceptual filter of data and situations in the external world without preponderance. His works are a momentary / flow related audiovisual process People start recognizing they are nothing when depth of their awareness enhances.’’ Its the nothingness within the most intricate details that allow for his complex simplicity.+ More details

SHORTLIST EXPERIMENTAL VIMEO + AWARDS 2012 https://vimeo.com/awards/shortlist/experimental A portrait of our society. Consumption and insanity go together. Um retrato de nossa sociedade. Consumo e insanidade caminham juntos. The artist is the blank canvas that changes every act. The intervention in the supermarket goes by various nuances of the total absolute pleasure to disgust, an outbreak within a prison called consumption. The public space is used as a stage of subversion and dialectics with consumers in a peaceful but strong way. The original soundtrack was composed from audio recordings in supermarkets around the world (Sao Paulo, Brazil / Mexico City, Mexico / Mumbai, India / New York, USA / Beijing, China), sounds of shopping carts, people, packages, cash registers and all the noises we hear in a supermarket. www.huckfilmes.com "O curta brasileiro que está entre os selecionados do Vimeo Awards 2012 segue o princípio geral do melhor cinema de horror: a transformação de alguém numa monstruosidade e uma crítica social esfregada na sua cara. Eis o humano de hoje, pelo avesso." Ricardo Oliveira Jornalista e mestre em comunicação pela UFPB+ More details

http://www.robertseidel.com ADVECTION _ Robert Seidel 2-Channel Video Projection on a Water Fountain Dimension Fountain 10 x 7 m / Background 35 x 50 m Commissioned by 4th Lichtsicht Biennale _ Bad Rothenfelde / Germany _ http://www.lichtsicht-biennale.de 27th September 2013 – 5th January 2014 Artist Statement The work advection consists of several visual études projected on the continuously changing volume of a water fountain. Interconnected with both the circadian rhythm of their natural surroundings as well as the meteorological nuances of seasonal change from autumn to winter – the fixed études alter their density, texture and luminescence over the exhibition time. This highly organic pictorial frame spawns a contemporary form of moving abstract paintings or associative drawings. The volumetric fountain, the pond reflections and iridescent flares shape a plasmatic spatial system, which is extended by a secondary video projection. This additional layer illuminates the surrounding area, integrating vegetation and the passing visitors into an abstracted mirage-stage. Here, twining lines change their density within the evolving volume as fragile light patterns float in the bank of fog. The skeletal music composition is augmented by the sound of rippling water and the rushing fountain. Ultimately flickering projection segments and the emerging natural airstreams break the fluctuating formations, making every loop a unique permutation.
