    • Viewing digital 3D models with a physical cube - v0.2

In the second version of my physical-cube-interface prototype you can not see the video stream. I tried to make the tracking more stable and also implemented some of my initial ideas for viewing actual radiology data. This is still a very early prototype but I have the feeling that I am on the right track here. While playing around with the prototype I become more familiar with the advantages and problems. It already feels really natural to view a 3D model. But I think the other ideas I’ve implemented (pressure sensor, move cube left/right to change transparency) need some more consideration. At this stage there is too much things happening at the same time.

      • LOOPLEX tangible user interface using Ableton Live, MaxMSP, reacTIVision, Arduino

LOOPLEX is a prototype tangible user interface for live sound interaction and improvising with loops using reacTIVision, MaxMSP, Ableton Live and Arduino. How does it work? In short: A DV-Cam in the center of the cube is tracking fiducials markers mounted underneath the hexagon tiles via the reacTIVision software. The generated OSC-Data is received by the TUIO-Client for MaxMSP and converted into Midi NoteOn/Off and Midi CC-Data dependent on the fiducial's angle. This Midi-Data is mapped within Ableton Live for triggering Audio-Loops or Effects. While triggering an Audio-Clip in Ableton Live a Midi-Clip containing Note-On/Off and Pitchbends is triggered simultaneously and routed to MaxMSP. This information controls 6 coloured LEDs (2xRGB) connected to the 6 digital PWM-Ports on the Arduino via the Firmata (maxuino) Firmware, allowing simple on/off states, smooth colour changes and additive color processing.

This is the one of the early work of 'IMG512' of zenitum. Actually we didn't use the name 'IMG512' as a interactive media group but it belong to 'IMG512' now. This application 'Fortune Shaker' is based on the camera tracking technology. Position tracking engine 'ego-MO' detects a hand movement from video streaming data by camera on the phone NOKIA 6630. It works very well!!!!, but it unstable somtimes with background that has no texture with.
