1. Making of the Santa Cruz Solo video

from Santa Cruz Bicycles / Added

Watching the Santa Cruz Solo video, it would be easy to think the Gaelic Gods gifted us with perfect weather conditions. Far from it. Snow came down right on the one day we'd hired the helicopter... and the cineflex operator had pretty much told us he hadn't been able to record any decent footage. Only when we got back to camp did we realize the epic scenes that had been captured... and saw how much potential still remains in Scotland. Watch Chris Ball (Baller Consultancy), Stu Thomson & Scott Marshall (CutMedia) and Sheffield Steel himself (Steve Peat) as they battle to make it count. Behind the scenes filmed and edited by Joe Bowman (Steel City Media).

A little video of the cycling trip down the Outer Hebridean Islands of Scotland by Peter Linnemann and Kieran Beamish. We set off on the 2nd September 2010 from Kyle of Lochalsh, next to the Skye Bridge. On the 6th September we arrived into Glasgow, having completed our 214 mile journey in, for the most part, great weather. Our journey took us to Hampden Park to watch Scotland take on European minnows Liechtenstein. Now all we needed was a home win for a fairytale end to our journey...

An afternoon spent around Culzean Castle and its grounds. (No filming allowed inside - shame.) A great place for a day out. The castle goes back to the late 1700s, with Robert Adams as the architect. More recently, it was used by Dwight D Eisenhower on various occasions (including when he was president.) The grounds are quite extensive, including a Victorian walled garden, a pagoda and a lake at the southern end. Lots of wildlife to see, especially ducks, swans and geese. Needless to say it has a reputation for being home to various ghosts. http://www.nts.org.uk/Property/Culzean-Castle-Country-Park/ Music from Kevin MacLeod, Royalty Free, http://incompetech.com Folk Round. from Santa Cruz Bicycles / Added

Steve Peat takes his new Santa Cruz 5010 into the wilds of Scotland. 5010 pushes further into the realms of 27.5" wheel size possibilities. Developed using what we learned from Bronson, it takes the design platform in a different direction. The low bottom bracket height, shorter chainstays and 125mm of progressive VPP suspension give 5010 its snappy, nimble, ride. A 68 degree head angle adds climbing agility into the equation, whilst a 5lb carbon frame weight define 5010 as the tool for that back country mission you’ve always planned.   Responsibly offered in Mountain Rescue Orange, 5010 goes where no bike has gone before. This film was a collaborative project between Santa Cruz, The Baller Consultancy, CutMedia and Visit Scotland.
