Watch fullscreen! An experiment in defocus. It's just as hard to get a consistent bokeh as it is to get accurate focus! I plan to do some more experimenting with defocus using different lenses as it brings out the real characteristic of the glass. Some of the shots are like pointillism, a technique used in painting (I believe van Gogh used it before getting into the swirly style... which, by the way, looks a lot like what c-mount lenses often produce!) Some of it reminds me of Fernando Botero's ' Fat Figures'. My wife just gets annoyed by this clip and 'wants to see what's going on.' I comfort myself with the notion that all great artists were once misunderstood... ;-) I'll start a new group: Bokeh Bazar. "Dedicated to the pursuit of beautiful bokeh, the art of defocus and a platform to present failed footage as fine art." I dare everyone to share their most beautiful bokeh! Equipment used: Canon 550D/T2i Vivitar Series 1, 70-210mm 3.5 LCD Fader ND mark II

I've been taking some photographs with the Canon 550D/Vivitar 70-210 (60,-) and it was time to shoot some proper video with it. After some failed attempts at recording moving images (shaking portable tripod, forgetting memorycard, no LCD viewfinder) I finally got around to taking along my heavy Manfrotto sticks and all the necessary accessories. And film a day in the park. No grading. www.filmersblog.com www.imaginevideo.nl
