    This is a test to render fire with my Volume Rendering System using PRMan. This scene is using 10 Volume Caches with deformation motionblur rendering at ~4-5mins/frame at 720p on my old Notebook. Memory usage can be fully controlled and peaks for this scene at 1GB but can easily be limited to less than 500MBs.

      In this example I've used a smoke simulation and used the temperature with my blackbody shadeop so there's no combustion going on here. Rendertime is about 2:30min per frame on average

        Another fire testrendering. Stuff's working rather well now. I'd like to add a few more controls to the shader which would make it easier to adjust the look but I think it's fine considering that this is using the default settings, only the temperature has been adjusted to get better colors. Rendertime for this one is 2mins/frame at 1080p but by loosing some minor details this would render in 30secs and the memory usage is promising too. Next step would be to do some renderings at a bigger scale with ~100 caches. Fingers crossed that memory usage stays as low as I hope

          second test doing fire renders with prman. i think the colors work much better now. hope to render with deformation motion blur soon sorry for not beeing HD, I need a pro account to upload multiple HD videos per week. However I've enabled downloads so if you want to see it in HD feel free to download it. Some players are a bit funny with it, propably because of the bitrate. VLC works fine though

            First test rendering fire with prman. Still quite some work to do. Need to put a bit more time into the simulation and add some more controls in the shader to get better colors. also deformation motion blur is missing at the moment i'm using blackbody emission to get the colors but i think the drago tonemap operator lifts my shadow regions a bit too much. i'll try using a filmic curve.

              First tests to render volumes with PRman. This uses a custom converter to load bgeo simulation caches from Houdini into a custom ImplicitField plugin to render the volume in PRman. This approach ensures high quality renderings, fast rendertimes and low memory usage which leads to high scalability. This rendering is 100 frames long and took ~45secs/frame to render at 720p
