WE HAVE ANOTHER CUP ~ The Healthy Communities Initiative Cup Wow, so honored and so proud to have been awarded this most prestigious cup at last Sylvan Lake's Volunteer Gala on April 17, 2015. TURNED DISASTER INTO A BEAUTIFUL DREAM. “Community is just one big family”, says committee member Kelly Edgecombe. And how right she is. Hundreds of volunteers and groups were nominated. So inspiring, so beautiful, so heart-wrenching, to see so many people reaching out, helping others and making our community the wonderful place that it is. You are fantastic!                 Off The Bench Volunteers Maisie Banks & Alice Carter have been awarded StreetGames Local Heroes awards for their outstanding commitment to volunteering. Alice Carter After showing continued support and innovation to volunteering with a range of StreetGames projects, Alice was awarded the Local Heroes certificate and hoody for recognition in volunteering over 200 hours of her time within the Lincoln StreetGames project - Off The Bench. On the same day as receiving this award Alice also won the Highly Commended Award for Volunteering from Lincoln University. Everyone at Off The Bench is immensely proud of Alice and everything she does for OTB. Maisie Banks Maisie is the one of the longest standing volunteers we have at Off The Bench, having been with us for over two years, starting when she was just 14 years old and completing over 3000 volunteering hours before finding funding to create herself a job with OTB. Maisie has gone from volunteering on projects to becoming a trainee manager and managing her own youth centres.
