FJ’s Garden pays homage to the glorious Fletcher Jones gardens that were once the pride & joy of Warrnambool. The Fletcher Jones Gardens were once postcard pretty and the pride of Warrnambool. The glorious, fresh & colourful gardens attracted visitors from far and wide. Alas, along with the Fletcher Jones factory & the Fletcher Jones Silver Ball, the gardens have gone to ruin. This short film celebrates what once was. Made specifically for the Silver Ball Film Festival Projection Screening in Warrnambool May 9th, 2014

I am often surprised at the ways in which people can seem so different, but still share so many human experiences and emotions. This little video promises to reveal some of the ways that people are similar - the places where we meet each other, find similarities and shared experiences or sentiments. Imagine if we could do this all around the world? Would we be so different? This video was filmed by Rhonda Mc Donell, she also conducted the interviews. With a bit of help from me, Rhonda set up an interview booth at the Sustainability Festival in Warrnambool. The aim was to ask a bunch of different people some of life's big questions, for ABC Open's new national video project of the same name. We set up shop in the foyer of the Warrnambool Art Gallery, which you can see in the background. Rhonda manned the camera while I would wander out into the crowd and coerce sustainable people into revealing something about themselves. Neither myself or Rhonda had chosen the questions and we were both a bit nervous about how people would respond, as some of them were pretty personal; What's your most annoying trait? What do you do when you feel sad? What advice would you give your 16 yr old self? But geez, we shouldn't have worried. These folk could handle it and then some. I decided to just edit together answers to two of the questions we asked, so here you will get some excellent advice to 16 year-old selves, and some pointers for what to do when you feel sad. Enjoy! Many locals living in Warrnambool Victoria popped in to the Sustainability Festival last weekend. Myself and community film maker Rhonda McDonnell asked them this; "How do you make your life more sustainable?" Here's what they had to say. Inspiring right? Meet the man with over 10 cars. That would be remote control cars. Pete has had a passion for motor sports since a very young age growing up drifting RC cars on the dunes of Warrnambool and now creating and managing his own RC track in Bendigo. Watch the original RC edit here https://vimeo.com/62224756 Created By Brendan Cherry Music by Dan-O at DanoSongs.com Recently I had the privilege of filming and playing with some cool Remote Control Cars. This is some of the footage I got. A special thanks to the BBC RC team for letting me come out and film their cars! If you live in the Bendigo area, to find out about the events go to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BBCRC This was shot on a Canon t3i/600D with both the 18-55mm and 55-250mm kit lenses. It was all shot at 50fps and where it is slowed down even more I manipulated it with TimeWarp, an After Effects plugin. For the interview footage I used the 50mm f1.8.
