Our associate Malte Röthig created this beautiful aesthetic study of 'Daphnia Pulex' (water flea). Post- and editing-processes are based on a conceptual NOAC-design. The footage originally was shot for and used in the TEDx Rhein-Main 2013 opening title, which NOAC created for the event. Delve into the microscopic realm of this tiny creature and take a playful look at 'Daphnia's' behavior, it's colors and shapes. See it as a short journey into the secret life of this little fella. Enjoy! Concept & Design by NOAC.

For the first time in history, researchers at the Max Plankton Institute in the Netherlands have recorded piano music practised by a common water flea. First light of the phenomenon was obtained using darkfield microscopy. The research is expected to be nominated for the Breakthrough Of The Year-award from the prestigious journal Science, as the finding sheds a whole new perspective on the origin of live music. The award is one of the highest distinctions in science.
